A taste of LOCAL LIFE
(Markets that serve up freshly baked goods with a side of local news.)
Weekend mornings in New Brunswick were made for farmers markets. Expect to be greeted with warm smiles, the scent of fresh coffee brewing and, in many cases, hot breakfast on the grill. At the very least you’ll be welcomed by a juicy selection of organic produce and fresh-out-of-the-oven baked goods. Hunt for market treasures like handmade quilts, local crafts and works of art. Best spots for people-watching (and trading local gossip) include the W. W. Boyce Farmers Market, recognized nationally in both the Globe and Mail newspaper and Harrowsmith magazine as one of the best farmers markets in Canada, and the Saint John City Market, the oldest market in North America.
You never know what you might find – or who you might meet.
